O <br /> Military Leave <br /> a. A regular full,-tune employee in the m1litary reserve <br /> shall be paid the difference between the compensation <br /> received while on reserve duty and the regular compensation <br /> paid by the Town. Such payment by the Town shall be limited <br /> to a period n_ot to exceed two weeks in any fiscal year <br /> and shall not include payment to members of the National <br /> Guard who are mobilized during an emergency. Such leave <br /> shall not be charged to the employee ' s vacation time. <br /> Maternity Leave <br /> a. Whenever a regular full-time or regular standard <br /> part-time employee becomes pregnant, she shall furnish a <br /> certificate from her physician stating the expected date of <br /> her delivery. While an employee may take maternity leave <br /> without pay at any time after a diagnosis of her pregnancy is <br /> confirmed by her physician in writing, the Town may require <br /> written certification from her physician as to how long the <br /> employee should continue her regular work, All requests for <br /> maternity leaven of absence shall be made in writing by the <br /> employee to her Department dead at least two weeks prior <br /> to the desired elate of leave, For maternity leave which sloes <br /> not exceed twelve 1 weeks, the Town shall reinstate the <br /> employee to her previous position with the sane status, pay, <br /> and length of service credit as of the date of her leave, and <br /> cover the Town' s part of the employee ' s health insurance <br /> premium for the twelve-week period , For longer periods of <br /> leave, the Town shall, reinstate the employee in the first <br /> available opening for which she is qualified.
