New Hite and Annual Physicals <br /> As a pre-condition of employment, a l l applicants considered <br /> for a position with the Town, must be certified by a <br /> physician designated by the Board of Selectmen, that he/she <br /> is fit to perform the duties and responsibilities of the <br /> position applied for. <br /> The Town may require employees in the Public Safety Depart- <br /> ments to have annual physical examinations administered by a <br /> physician designated by the Board of Selectmen. Costs of <br /> these physicals will be paid by the town. <br /> Employee A si tance Program <br /> The Employee Assistance Program is designed to assist <br /> employees whose work performance is being impaired by <br /> alcohol, drugs, mental illness, family or other problems. <br /> Y <br /> The program has several components9 including: <br /> -Confidential interviewing and problem analysis; . <br /> -Referral of individuals to appropriate community <br /> treatment sources; <br /> -Progress monitoring for participating employees <br /> while in treatment; <br /> -Assistance with re-entry <br /> -Follow-up care for each employee who participates <br /> in the program, as well as development of on- rein <br /> systems to maintain recovery <br /> For additional information and literature, contact the <br /> Personnel Off ice. <br />
