Policy for Prevention and Elimination of Sexual Harassment in <br /> the Work Pla e, cont`. <br /> The Board of Selectmen upon receipt of a complaint of sexual <br /> harassment in the workplace, within thirty days after <br /> occurrence of the alleged incident, will take the following <br /> actions: <br /> 1. Refer the complaint to the Chief of Police with a request <br /> to investigate. <br /> 2. Notify the employee, in writing, against whoa the <br /> complaint has been brought that such a complaint has been <br /> filed and advise that employee an investigation will be <br /> conducted. <br /> . Upon receipt of the investigatory report, schedule <br /> hearing. The Board may conduct this hearing in <br /> executive session if the employee against whoa the <br /> complaint has been brought has been notified of the <br /> session at least 48 hours prior to the proposed -hear-- <br /> .•in . The hearing shall be open to the public if the <br /> employee against whom the complaint has been filed <br /> requests that the meeting be open. At the hearing, <br /> the employee to whom the complaint has been filed <br /> shall have the following rights; <br /> 1. To be present <br /> . To have counsel or a representative of his/her <br /> own chosing present. Said representative may <br /> actively participate, including examination of <br /> any witnesses and the comp aintant. <br /> 3. To speak in his/her behalf if he/she so chases. <br /> Personal Use of Department Tele hones <br /> No personal long distance calls are to be made from town <br /> telephones without either use of a personal credit card to <br /> have calls billed to another* line or have calls charged <br /> directly to the other line It is possible to obtain a► <br /> calling credit card from your service representative of your <br /> phone company. ) <br /> Long Distance Phone Calls <br /> All long distance phone calls must be listed on a► telephone <br /> log which will accompany the telephone bill. The department <br /> head is responsible for the satisfactory completion of the <br /> log. The Town Accountant is instructed to exclude from the <br /> warrant all long distance charges from the telephone bill <br /> which are not included on the logs. (Logs have been printed <br /> and are available in theSelectmen's office. you are asked <br /> not to make copies of telephone logs on the copy machine. ) <br /> Fax Lachine <br /> facsimile machine is installed in the Selectmen's offices <br /> The number is 477-1128.
