Town COUnsel Set-vices All requests for legal services must be approved by the Chairman of the Board of Selectmen and the Executive Secretary, Town Counsel is available by appointment, i Town Hall , each Tuesday after-noon on be ween the hours of 1:30 P* , and 5: .M) F1 is M. Once approval has been obtained, employees are requested to reserve an ppo i-n tr en t by calling the Adminis- trative dminitrative Assistant in the Selectmen9s office. Appointments are made on one--half hour in ter l , It- has also proven more productive if Counsel is advised of the nature of the legal set-,,vicesbeing requested. You may be asked to bring any pertinent files with you for the appointments Prohibition onokink Your attention _ i --directed to the provisions of Chapter-, 759 f the Acts of 1987 which took:: effect April 14, 1988. This statute provides that: I ) No person shall smoke . . 4'at any open meeting of a govern- mental overn-rentol body. . ` #oo :4 is per i tted in any public building except in an area which has been specifically designated as a smoking area, "fin area shall be designated as a smok-ing area only if nonsmoking ar*e s of sufficient size ,and capacity ar;e available to accommodate nonsmokers. " 3 The person or managers in charge of each town building are required to post signs at each entrance indicating that smokingis prohibited except in designated areas and shall post conspicuous signs indicating which is the smoking area. 4 The building inspector', is designated by statute as the enforcement officer. 5 The new law does not prohibit smokintby an individual in a completely enclosed private office or vehicle. Designated Smoking Areas: Town Hall - Lour e Area; Senior Center - As designated byDirector; D.P.W. - As per agreement; Police Dept. - al lyporit; pima Dept. -Appat'atUs Areai Building Dept. - Hone; Bd. of Health per, commission* Certified and Registered Mail Certified or registered mail addressed to a department, k thout specific instructions o the depar toren t, may be picked up at the post office by the department designee* Certified or Registered Mail addressed simply to "Town of M hpee" will not be accepted. After a period, the Postal Service will return it to the sender If your department wants your certified or r e c3 i t er e d mail to be delivered to Town Hall , a form may be obtained thr'oUh the Selectmen' s office to make this request. If you do not desire to have it picked up, a notice which is addressed to you will be placed i n your mail slot in Town Hall .
