John P rokos reviewed their revised site plan with the Committee . The! r
protect has moved to the west , behind the housing authority site . There
seers to be enough room to do this prod ect successfu l l y A There is a
separate entry from the high school , with about Soo feet of separation
between thea. The parking is around the theater . Further south there is an
outdoor "shed`{ with seating for about 1 , 000 people . The area to the east is
additional parking . It will not be l large lot but smaller lots set into
the woods . This plan required moving the housing authority property line
Soo feet to the west. They also request the Committee look at shifting the
whole high school complex 100 feet to the north and 100 feet to the east.
This still maintains room for future field development. This provides -dor
the areas between the football field and PAC to be effectively screened
Mr. Thompson added that even if it wasn ' t moved they would probably have
enough room but this gives the center an additional buffer and separation .
Their plan also shows an alternate exit on old Barnstable Road , a secondary
exit and service road .
Paul asked if the Committee does not move 100 feet north but does rove 100
feet east, could they divert some parking towards the old Barnstable Rd
co r n r
Mr . Thompson said that is the wetlands area. It is conceivable but not
preferable .
Mr . Thompson explained their intent is to go to schematics by this Fall ., By
October they will have one-half the money needed to build the facility and
hope to open spring of 1996 , may not be until 1997 .
Peter asked if they own the land? If there is going to be a swap, it will
have to occur in October .
Mr. Thompson said they have an option with Fields Point.
Mr. Prokos explained this plan was developed ,lust to verify that this
center could all fit on this area, to verify it could work . Many of the
details have to be worked out.
PROJECT MANAGER REPORT CONTINUED
Schematic Design- to be reviewed at today ' s meeting .
FF & B - sMMA seat a list of suggested items to Dr .
