They would give the committee a list of recommendations to <br /> select from. <br /> Mr. Gree l i sh stated he saw a lot of hand drawn work, what are <br /> their CAD capabilities <br /> Mr, Frenette explained they have 34 CAD stations. All of their <br /> drawings are produced on CAD, o of the production drawings. <br /> They have the capabilities for animation , wa l th rough, flyby. <br /> Paul Griffin asked what they see the project costing and how long <br /> for the design and construction? <br /> Mr. Frenette explained project costs Is 120% of construction <br /> cost. Their best estimators recommend $125 per sq foot <br /> construction costs. Some are trying to do it for $115 per sq <br /> foot and some high schools have been built for 145 per sq foot. <br /> Mr. Griffin asked if they have seen i nfl ati onary costs as of <br /> late? <br /> Mr. Frenette said they are starting to see things go up a little, <br /> 4t was level for 4 years . <br /> Mr, Griffin mentioned a recent E & R article which said <br /> construction costs could rise 8- in the next year. <br /> M r. Griffin asked abort timing , realistically, without rushing , <br /> how long for design and construction? <br /> M r. Frenette said based on the draft educational specs he <br /> reviewed -- 1 1 /2 months for programming , 2 months for schematic <br /> design, -3 months design development, 5 months contract <br /> documents - in 9-12 months they could go out to bid , with early <br /> s i to preparation , foundation and footing designs it can <br /> definitely meet the schedule for Sept. 1996 . <br /> They have , in the past, done public projects on a fast track <br /> basis. <br /> Mr. Griffin noted this project needs filed sub bids . <br /> sMMA said they could put together multiple packages, It would <br /> cost more to produce more packages. <br /> . <br /> Peter D i n i z i o what work load will be handled by Perkins and Will ? <br /> M r, Frenette said M r. Brubaker of Perkins and will and he would <br /> do the programming work together 50- 0. <br /> M r, D i n i z i o asked who would be the contact person on a day to day <br /> bas i s' <br /> Mr. Frenette said he is the final authority. Mr. Brubaker is <br /> similar to a consultant to SMMA. The two firms are on line and <br /> connected by CAD. <br /> Mr. D i n i z i o explained the committee intends to hire a project <br /> management firm.
