Dr. DeMoura explained they will be console units that can go into any classroom. The Faculty work room doubles as a lounge . There is no student lounge . She asked the Committee if they had a clear understanding of the ranking and funding procedure of the State? TAMS has been told it will take 2-3 years to get funding . Peter stated the Committee was lead to believe by the State , Mashpee would have high priority funding because we are in the unique position of being forces! out. Schematic Design Review- Ms . Scarlett reviewed with the Committee the key issues . She sees the loop road as problematic because of all the cross roads creating intersections . The circulation should be simplified as much as possible . Paul explained at last weeks meeting they cleared up some of those issues . She was not working with the most current site plan . Shannon thinks the plan organization is an efficient layout of spaces . It needs further development to create the communal character to the interior spaces , otherwise they are just long corridors . The library/administration wing is confusing in this layout , needs some development. There is a lot of natural light and the orientation to the site are nice features . She said there is a sense of the parts not coming together as a cohesive unit. The amount of fields provided seems excessive for a typical high school . If there are budget problems you could cut back there ; they are easy to add on later . Bill asked what the proper amount of fields is for this sized high school ? Peter asked Ms . Scarlett to come up with a recommendation for minimum fields . She said one of each type of field and 1 /2 as many tennis courts . Paul said you have to look at the community . we are not only supporting a high school athletics program but all the things the town has skimped on for years . This was sold to the town as a community center . Peter asked if they will investigate the swimming pool and have options for the next meeting? Ian said they can . Does the Committee want to present the pool question at the October town meeting? Al Polsi was present and agreed the Committee should give the people all the facts and let teem decide . Bob Fournier said they have been developing cost information for the construction and operation of the pool . They will have the information to the Committee by July 26th . Janice suggested the architects address the TAMS review and get back to the Committee. n 3
