Bob continued discussing the schedule, construction should commence on April 1 , 1995 through August 1 , 1996. The longest phase is the auditorium and gym area and they will have only a 1 month move in period . The academic wings shou1d have a 3 month move in period if it stays on schedule. The outdoor facilities construction will begin on day 1 and therefore have 2 growing seasons and be ready for use on opening day . Joe asked about the EIR, what issues haven't been addressed? Steve said the secretary is just doing due diligence. Enough people have pushed buttons on this project to require i t. Bob said a 1 1 items have been addressed to some extent. The cape cod commission wants 3 additional intersections added to the traffic study . Tom wren presented notes form the Schedule Meeting and Bob presented copies of the revised schedule. . Design Development Peer Review Meeting will be Tuesday October 25th at sMMA's office. The School Department will allow use of their station wagon which can hold 7 people. Dr. DeMou r a explained John Childs has a contract to provide certain information to SMMA and that part of his job is complete. Dr. DeMou ra has asked the committee to consider extending the contract so he Childs write the specs for the equipment needed. Paul said SMMA is working on a recommendation. The question i s would the Committee be better served by a local consultant. Mike P i et rows i said he just returned form a conference In California on audio/video technology. Video format is now being converted to digital -- f or flexibility and capability. Mike has done a lot of research i n this area, The system has to have flexibility for the future. Paul said he met with Tavares, the proposed furniture and equipment consultant. His budget for Mashpee, to meet the technology of the future- $5 million. The technology is like a sponge . To what point do you prepare for the future. Mike said digital will be the format for the next 20 years, 5 million sounds excessively high. Paul asked Mike, when meeting with the technology consultant, to ask him to give us the best system for the year 2000 . It will probably be over budget. The Committee then has to decide which items will become obsolete first. Mike Piet rows k i and Steve have to meet to brainstorm these issues, Paul said technology is coining on faster than staff end users - can learn to use them. Mike said the Synergy system is user friendly, is used for computer, telephone, alarms, etc. Mike asked if the telecommunication system has be selected yet? No, nothing has been decided upon yet.
