on 15 ,000 gallons but they do agree it is not 28,000 gallon , it may end up
18 or 20 , 000.
Bob Fournier said they are also wiling to look at regulations they have in
place that raise the cost of the plant and are willing to listen to Woodard
and Curren ' s recommendations to satisfy them in a less costly way for this
community.
Paul said he has a letter form the Selectmen authorizing additional funds
for Woodard and Curran.
Bob Whritenour said the letter does not determine the amount of money at
this time. When the scope of the study is defined they will put a dollar
figure on it. The Selectmen understand the time crunch because of the
change in engineers .
Paul explained Woodard and Curran needs additional funds for additional
scope of work: to provide factual data to certify the size of the plant
(gallonage) , and look at potential alternative systems . They are asking
for $20 , 000. We need for them to get going ASAP.
Steve asked when they found out about the meeting because he would have
been interested in attending , especially if they were discussing a modified
RBC?
Paul said they did not know what would be discussed. DBP volunteered the
modified RBC. He mentioned it to Steve last week , that they would be
setting up a meeting for early this week.
Steve said he made a request for information from the architects last week
and has not heard back .
Bob said he will follow up, he had given direction to have that information
sent.
Steve wants an idea of where the costs were. A phone call is sufficient .
Paul said he also needs that information.
Bob said that information should not be "published" made available to
everyone.
Peter said it sounds like DEP is being really flexible. The new firm
(Woodard and Curran) seems really flexible also.
Paul made a motion that SMMA tell Woodard and Curran to start on
the additional study , subject to working out the details of the
fee. Merry Sue seconded the motion. All members were in favor 7-0.
Bob said they are ready to present their recommendation to the DEP to
develop a plan for chemical discharge (chemical waste from the Chem labs) .
He elected not to discuss it at today's meeting with DEP. it should be
part of Woodard and Curran ' s study .
LAND ACQUISITION
Dan Solien submitted a pre-final acquisition plan that addresses all the
loose ends of the prior plan.
The Fields Point properties do abut and they are not land locked .
Remaining issue is the Com Electric easement, what process will be used to
abandon it.
Paul had told Town Counsel that Dan would be calling him to resolve it.
Bob Whritenour said town counsel needs to know there is no deed reference .
3
