Paul told the Committee he attended the technology seminar last week given <br /> by CELT and Sushani . He thought it was a very good seminar. It identified <br /> technology and the apparent problems in today' s educational market and how <br /> ed reform effects some of these problems ; how technology will help <br /> students . <br /> * Merry Sue made a motion that the Committee direct Manny Tavares to <br /> go forward with bidding documents for group 2 . Janice seconded the <br /> motion. All members were in favor 7-0 . ** <br /> The next furniture subcommittee meeting is November 20th at 3 : 00 p.m. in <br /> Dr. DeMoura' s office . <br /> FEE INVOICES <br /> ** Paul made a motion to forward to the Selectmen for their approval <br /> and payment $17 , 342 . 23 to Chartwell for basic project management <br /> services and clerk of the works services and overtime. Merry Sue <br /> seconded the motion. All members were in favor. <br /> Steve Greelish stepped down from this portion of discussion dealing with <br /> the Water District . <br /> * Paul made a motion to forward to the Selectmen for their approval <br /> and payment a Mashpee Water District fee for $21 , 720 for service <br /> connection fee , water main and fire sprinkler inspection. Merry <br /> Sue seconded the motion. <br /> Janice would like to know if other town buildings have paid these fees . <br /> Paul said the Water District will not waive this fee. This should be <br /> changed but for now the Town has to pay it to get the water hooked up. <br /> He reminded the Committee there are 2 water connections because the fire <br /> chief wanted dual connections . <br /> All members were in favor 6-0 . ( Steve Greelish stepped down) . <br /> ** Paul made a motion to forward to the Selectmen for their approval <br /> and payment change order #4 for $1 , 645 to add plumbing drains in <br /> the kitchen because of the addition of a pass through refrigerator <br /> and increase size of tap for water main. Merry Sue seconded <br /> the motion. <br /> Paul explained the pass through refrigerator needs the drain and the wrong <br /> size tap was speced so there is now an extra to provide the correct size . <br /> * All members were in favor 7--0 . <br /> Earlier this week Paul approved 2 change orders: for trap primer in the <br /> floor drain in the back of the building . The building inspector suggested <br /> they be added and a stub for electrical which they are not sure yet will be <br /> needed. <br /> Joe Polito discussed the problem of standing water, south of the gym area <br /> and who is gong to fix it? It is in an area where kids will be, there will <br /> be a problem with it . <br /> Steve said when something starts growing , there won't be a problem. <br /> Paul said if the additional fields no not get approved the Committee can <br /> then look at this problem. If the fields are approved then the issue will <br /> 4 <br />
