Furniture & Equipment/Delivery Schedule (continued) page 4
Upon question from Joel, Manny informed that all of the office
furniture, including teachers ' desks and file cabinets, is
scheduled to be delivered the week of the 26th. Paul recommended
that Manny request this shipment be moved up one week because the
teachers will have to get ready for school . Lengthy discussion
followed. It was strongly recommended that all classrooms and
offices not being used initially should be used to store
furniture.
Manny informed that library furniture and chairs are scheduled
for shipment next week; they probably will arrive the following
week. Concerning other items , Manny does not yet have firm
shipment dates. Paul requested that by the end of this week,
Manny put .together a schedule of all furniture delivery dates and
give it to the Clerk at the job site . Any items without firm
dates should be listed and shown that the dates are unknown; when
each firm date is received, Manny should fax the information to
the Clerk as soon as possible .
Status of Bids: Manny informed that he has a package going out
for bid tomorrow; it includes copiers and equipment, televisions,
home economic equipment, re-bid of other equipment, and missing
pieces . Paul asked if there will be a problem receiving these
items by school opening. Manny informed that some items may be a
problem. We will receive bids on the 14th; by the time we
evaluate and award, it will be close to September 1st. Many
items are off the shelf ; copiers and televisions are generally
delivered quickly; we may receive a partial shipment of items .
In addition, Manny informed that the last package of fatness
equipment has been awarded; we have additional equipment for the
gym and expect more. We have a partial list of audio visual
equipment and expect more . We have not seen a list of health
equipment. Miscellaneous teaching aids - we have some equipment
for the Math Department; we expect to see more for English and
Social Studies. Music equipment - we have the list and are
working on the specs for the next package. Some art equipment
has been awarded; we expect a supplementary list. Science
apparatus -- we have seen the list and are working on the specs
for the next package. Tech educational hand tools for the
Workshop we have and are being brought in . . . we do not plan
to purchase any. The Library security system is waiting for
technical information from the selected vendor.
Lengthy discussion followed concerning tools and equipment owned
by the School Department that will be used in the new High
School . The Committee agreed that a reputable company, such as
Brentwood Machinery , should do a maintenance check on the items ,
and move and install them if necessary so that they are certified
to be in good running condition. Paul recommended that if the
name is known of a local person or company who has experience in
this line of work, the name should be given to Manny.
