4 . Sewage Treatment Plant Page $ <br /> Paul explained that the approval by the DEP requires the <br /> installation of four monitoring wells to be maintained correctly <br /> for five years for the purpose of testing the operation of the <br /> Sewage Treatment Plant. This item was made known after the <br /> contract was issued; it must be expedited quickly because of <br /> Stone ' s time requirement; upon our request, Chartwell has secured <br /> a proposal from Woodard & Curran. <br /> ** Paul made a motion to forward to the Selectmen for their <br /> approval the bid of $9 , 200 plus the markup to Symmes <br /> Maini & McKee Associates , Inc. ; Joe. made second the <br /> motion. <br /> Steve asked if the. monitoring wells are on the property; Paul <br /> informed that their location is downflow from the Sewage <br /> Treatment Plant in an area that was specified between that and <br /> the river; the intent was to make sure the river is not getting <br /> loaded with nitrates after the five-year period. Permits will <br /> have to be obtained from the Board of Health. <br /> ** All members were in favor 7--0** <br /> Tom informed that the fluid ne training of Weston & Sampson <br /> personnel is a full five-day course and is in process of being <br /> arranged; it is urgently needed because we are at the point where <br /> the bathrooms can be used. Paul requested that Tom inform and <br /> invite Elias McQuaid to the upcoming training on how the Sewage <br /> Treatment Plant runs. <br /> Joel informed that Hand-over of the Plant b Stone to the Town to <br /> Weston & Sampson takes place when it is substantially complete; <br /> it is part of the contract. Tom inquired if Weston & Sampson can <br /> access it before that time. Joel explained that the date they <br /> could go in was supposed to be July 23rd to August 23rd; the <br /> plant has been reviewed; the building itself has not been punch <br /> listed out . Paul feels that the training can be done because it <br /> is under contract. Lengthy discussion followed. <br /> Tom informed that the telephone auto-dial has been installed b <br /> Nynex, Short discussion followed concerning the many cords to be <br /> installed in the Academic and Administrative Buildings . Jimmy <br /> said a system has been formulated on how we will install the <br /> cords as the rooms are finished. Paul recommended that any . <br /> concerns be coordinated with Jimmy. <br /> 5. Road Improvements and Additional Playing Fields <br /> There was general discussion concerning road improvements . Paul <br /> explained we have a temporary service pole that must be moved; <br /> it is in the middle of the road and in the way of Landers ' <br /> contract. Jim informed we will not be needing this service much <br /> longer; Paul said the road must be finished by the 23rd; Joel <br /> said base coat should go down in 2 weeks or less . Jim said he <br /> will coordinate this issue. Distributed were copies of letter <br /> from Bob Whritenour dated July 22nd; one of his major concerns is <br />
