F
Paul explained that Mr. Rudnick form Liberty finally understands
the town' s frustrations and has agreed to invest some money in
this project , right away. He sent Mr. Gunn to the job. Funding
for the temporary trailers will be discussed and resolved in the
next few days .
Paul explained there will be a meeting at Koppleman and Paige ' s
office on Thursday to discuss the issues between the Building
Inspector and SMMA.
Merry Sue asked if the issue is about supervision?
Paul said it is mainly supervision. It is unfair to blame the
condition of this job on the architect . It is the job of the
general contractor to supervise . When the job runs into trouble ,
what is the role of the architect? They are getting a ruling on
that from town counsel .
FF & E
Mike Kirwin of CCR was present . He explained the technology
subcommittee recently met to discuss the final video issues .
Mike Pietrowski had a comprehensive list of questions . He also
brought to the meeting a person who runs the audio visual program
at a college in Boston to offer his input .
Mike Kirwin is still working on a report on these issues .
They reached agreement on every item before leaving that meeting .
Just the documentation remains .
The auditorium will function as a studio . The gym/cafeteria areas
will have more expensive cable running to those areas but it can
then provide higher quality video production and multi camera use
from those areas .
Internal distribution system: 2 video sources -- cable and
VCR/Laserdisk/CD. There will be 2 satellites for distance
learning.
Editing capability: they added a small editing system, on a
mobile cart .
Merry Sue asked if teachers can tape something from their
classroom?
Mike Kirwin said they can. There is a video outlet at the back of
the room. You can have live production from the classroom.
Janice said it is an elementary system, really. It is geared for
student use , to provide training for kids to use when they leave
this school . They are providing fundamental equipment with a
variety of uses . She thought it was a very good meeting ; 8
people were all coming from different directions yet melded well .
Paul asked who will be in charge of all the equipment?
John Williams said Mike Pietrowski , he will be moving to the high
school .
Paul asked if Mike is content with the configuration?
He is happy with it , and they did it within budget .
Paul asked if we would have a problem if a new person had that
position, would there be a shortfall in any areas?
2
