Mrs. Mills made a motion, seconded by Mrs. Stanley, to approve the budget transfer <br /> request#08-0308-1 7. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous <br /> V, Maintenance vehicle Repairs <br /> Mrs. Bradshaw reviewed the vehicle inventory and repair reports Mr. Fripp prepared. <br /> VI, Itemized list of Special Education vehicles <br /> Mrs. Bradshaw reviewed the inventory of special education vehicles. There was <br /> concern expressed at the number of miles the vans currently have. Mrs. Grady <br /> mentioned this is why the school is looping at lease programs. <br /> Mgrs. Grady also asked Ms. Lugo to look into GPS systems for all special education <br /> vehicles. <br /> VII. Bus Radio Update <br /> Mrs. Bradshaw updated the Committee that next year Bus Radio will start selling <br /> spots to sponsors, at which time the school would be entitled to participate in a <br /> revenue sharing pool of % of the gross sales. <br /> VIII. Fool Service Kitchen Repair Memo <br /> Mrs. Bradshaw discussed that the Board of Health has recommended the Ni tro l in <br /> the food preparation area at the high school be replaced with stainless steel. This <br /> will be paid out of the food service account. t <br /> Mrs. Mills mentioned that at a recent Menu Advisory meeting, Mr. Scott had agreed <br /> to help pay for cameras for increased security at the back receiving doors of the high <br /> school arra the Coombs School. <br /> IX. Vote on substitute policy GCHC <br /> Mrs. Grader reviewed proposed changes to polies GCHA. A proposed new section <br /> would be added to read as follows <br /> Qualification and Certification of Substitute Teachers and In-Home `tutors <br /> All long-term substitute teachers must possess a minimum of a bachelor's degree. <br /> As a minimum standard, this requires that all long-term substitute teachers (defined as <br /> a position assignment expected to last longer than two consecutive weeks) working in <br /> the district possess an undergraduate degree from 'an accredited degree-granting <br /> institution. While it is not a requirement, it is preferred that the degree earned gelates <br /> specifically to the subject matter being taught. It is also desirable, though not <br /> required, that the degree be from a school of education and/or that the candidate has <br /> received instruction in, or has prior experience in, an educational setting. Candidates <br /> for long-terra and substitute teaching positions must provide a transcript showing <br /> course work completed, grades received, and degrees attained, as well as be able to <br />
