Torry Fudala reported that he has received commitments from New se bury, Mashpee shpee Corr mons <br /> and Willowbend indicating their willingness to provide signed letters stating their agreement to allow <br /> use of their discharge areas facilities. A series of meetings has been scheduled with all three areas <br /> to receive their signed letters of agreement. <br /> Torry Fudala commented on ar possible amendment to the plan which entails adjustments to the <br /> Mashpee Commons plan map. <br /> Next stops: Torte Fudala stated that next steps would be covered in the next t Sewer Commission <br /> meeting on January 15, 2015. <br /> VOUCHER SIGNATURES <br /> Tom Fudala reported receipt of one voucher from G HD for$1200 to corer work from 9/25/14 to <br /> 12/18/14. Torte Burns made a motion that the sewer Commission approve payment of the voucher; <br /> Joe Lyons seconded the motion. Doll CalVote: Tom Burns} yes; Glean Santos, yes; Joe Lyons <br /> yes; Tom Fudala, yes. The motion was approved 4- with one member absent. <br /> REGINA INA VILLA ASSOCIATES WORK: Nothing new to report. <br /> s <br /> INTERMUNICIPAL ICIPAL ISSUES: <br /> * County-funded inter-municipal MOU negotiations: no update. <br /> * Cape Cod Commission 208 plan. Torn Fudala reported that a meeting is scheduled for March 1t <br /> 2015 to finalize approval of the DCC 208 plan. <br /> FALMOUTH ISSUES <br /> Tom Fudala reported that Brian Howes has proposed that there should be a study conducted on the <br /> Moonal is estuary based upon the monitoring work being done there. Shellfish cannot be used in <br /> that area for nitrogen reduction purposes. Falmouth Concerned Citizen representative Win Monroe <br /> introduced himself to the meeting and stated that he will contact Brian Howes regarding the needed <br /> study and will take the issue back to Falmouth Water& Quality committee. Matt Patrick, also a <br /> Falmouth representative, introduced himself to the meeting and added that he will push the issue <br /> along with the Falmouth Water Quality committee. <br /> DISCUSSION ITEMS <br /> * Andrew Gottlieb Motion Ike: Water & sewer District. <br /> Tom Fudala referenced the memorandum dated 11/25/14 from B S Andrew Gottlieb to the Board <br /> of Selectmen which stated that the B S no longer supports the transfer of waste water <br /> management responsibility to the Mashpee later District and that the B S would work <br /> cooperatively with the Mashpee Water District Commissioners to ensure that the Town remains the <br /> responsible entity. Tom Fudala stated his great disappointment that Selectmen Gottlieb did not <br /> include the Sewer Commission or the Water Commissioners in this discussion before asking for an <br /> up or down vote. Mr. Fudala stated his feeling that this was inappropriate and it is a tragedy that <br /> the public was not involved in this decision and will not have a chance to Grote on something which <br /> would save them a half- million dollars if not more. Mr. Fudala stated further that he was very <br /> disappointed that Selectman Gottlieb did not include the Sewer Commission or the Water District in <br /> the discussion of this before he brought it to the Bs. selectman Gottlieb has been in attendance <br /> at numerous Sewer Commission meetings this year and never once brought up the subject of <br /> transferring the wastewater management responsibility to the Town. <br /> Mr. Fudala went on to say that the May 2015 vote will give the public a final say whether to give <br /> responsibility for the wastewater management plan to the B s or the Water District. Mr. Fudala <br /> said that this plan its something he personally worked on for seven years. There is the best utility <br /> 2 <br />
