Draft 2- August 25, 1995 <br /> Explanation: <br /> Article ll. <br /> To see if the Town will vote to amend the Personnel Administration Plan by <br /> deleting Appendix A (Position Classifications) and Appendix B (Salary Schedule) <br /> and substituting a new Appendix A and Appendix B, copies of which are on file <br /> in the office of the Town Clerk, and to raise and appropriate or transfer from <br /> available funds a sum of money for the purpose of funding the salary changes <br /> indicated in said new Appendix A and Appendix B to be effective on July 1, <br /> 1995, or take any other action relating thereto. <br /> Submitted by the Personnel Board <br /> Explanation: This article is based on the reclassification study of all P.A.P. <br /> positions. The action on this article will promoted both internal and external <br /> equity, and has been forwarded as a result of study and recommendation by the <br /> Massachusetts Municipal Consulting Group. <br /> Article l2. <br /> To see if the Town will vote to appropriate or transfer from available funds the <br /> .sum of $1,184.82 to reclassify the following library positions: 1 Circulation <br /> Assistant from Grade 3, Step 1 to Grade 4, Step 1*' <br /> 2 Circulation Assistants from <br /> grade 3, Step 5 to Grade 4, Step 4, and Library Assistant from Grade 8, Step 5 to <br /> Grade 10, Step 3, or take any other action relating thereto. <br /> Submitted by Library Trustees and Petition <br /> Explanation,,* The Board of Trustees is requesting that library staff <br /> classifications be upgraded to the level of other town positions requiring similar <br /> levels of skills and are performing comparable work. The Circulation Assistants <br /> are the only employees in Grade 3, while clerical employees in town positions are <br /> Grade 4 or higher. The training and skills of the Library Assistant are greater <br /> than the present Grade 8's which are secretarial positions. The level of skills, <br /> training and responsibility required of the Library Assistant is comparable to <br /> positions in Grade 10. <br /> Page 6 <br />
