Page <br /> sherman stated that the grant plus funds from the Town would fix <br /> the major problem with the River. Mr. Golub asked the construction <br /> cost, Ms . Ferriday stated that she and Mr, Sherman were going to <br /> spear to the Conservation Commission about utilizing $7,000 to <br /> revegetate and stabilize the area of River where the emergency <br /> dredging had been done. They both realized this was a lot of money <br /> and were not sure if the Commission would vote to spend it, Mr. <br /> Sherman stated that the Herring is a vital pant of the whole food <br /> chain for Mashpee/Wa eby. <br /> Mr. Sherman also recognized that the grant for $30k was a lot of <br /> money. He informed the Committee that it was only good for one <br /> year, He felt that this year they should go ahead with <br /> engineering. Mr, Goggin asked if they would apply for 'the grant <br /> and also an article? Mr. Sherman answered that the grant would <br /> . only cover $10,000 at the most. Ms. Ferriday stated that it would <br /> be helpful if the Finance committee and the Board of Selectmen <br /> would favor the article. Mr. Sherman asked that the Finance <br /> Committee discuss this and get back to them as soon as possible. <br /> He explained that the state wants to know that the Finance <br /> Committee and selectmen are behind it. It would help to move the <br /> grant along. Mr. Sherman mentioned that he would be meeting <br /> shortly with Lee Potter and Bob Whritenour. <br /> Computer Committee <br /> Mr. Goggin informed the Committee that the Computer Committee had <br /> met today and were reviewing a contract with a software vendor and <br /> an updated accounting system for the Town. Theme will be a training <br /> program for Town personnel. . Mr. Goggin stated that Torn Pucci , the <br /> newly appointed chairman was doing an excellent job. <br /> Capital Committee <br /> Mr. ' Golub stated that the Committee would be meeting again <br /> Thursday, Mr. Bacigalupi had two concerns regarding the Capital <br /> Committee. Firstly, he did not believe that an ex-officio member <br /> could be chairman.. Mr. Golub would research, Mr. Baoigalupi cited <br /> the section of the Ma tepee Codes for him, Secondly, he had a <br /> problem with Mr. Goggin being the appointed member to attend on <br /> behalf of the Finance Committee, when in fact, it was Mr. Golub <br /> attending the meetings. Ms, King MOTIONED E to appoint Sid Golub as <br /> permanent member to attend the Capital committee meetings ngs on behalf <br /> of the Finance Committee. This appointment would replace Mr. <br /> Goggin. John Ferriday seconded the Motion and members approved 7- <br /> 01 Goggin asked that a letter be sent to the Capital <br /> Improvement Committee notifying them of this change. <br /> Stabilization Article <br /> Mr. Goggin mentioned that the deadline for article submission is <br /> Monday, February 6th. Be asked that the secretary get the wording <br />
