7 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> August 27, 2018 <br /> Discussion and Approval of Special Event Applications and Temporary Sign Permit Applications for the <br /> following <br /> Mash ee's Pumpkin Patch Mashpee Congregational Church—Brad Sweet: <br /> Brad Sweet was in attendance representing the Mashpee Congregational Church to request the <br /> Board approve the Annual Mashpee Pumpkin Patch at the location adjacent to Police Headquarters. <br /> A Special Events Application was before the Board to hold the event on the lawn area adjacent to the Police <br /> Department from September 26, 2018 through October 31, 2018. The application includes a Temporary Sign <br /> Permit for(1) sign 5'x4'x5' on the lawn area located at the intersection of Route 151 and Frank Hicks Drive, <br /> A certificate of liability insurance was included in the application. This year,the Church will conduct outreach <br /> for more youth volunteers to assist with the placement of the pumpkins. Town Manager Rodney C. Collins <br /> urged the Church group to remind the youth volunteers that emergency vehicles are coming and going. Mr. <br /> Sweet indicated he is fully aware of this safety concern and for parking safely. Applicable departments have <br /> signed off on the applications with conditions attached. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Gottlieb to approve the Special Event Application of the Mashpee <br /> Congregational Church to hold the Annual Pumpkin Patch at the location adjacent to Police <br /> Headquarters from September 26, 2018 through October 31, 2018 to include a Temporary Sign Permit <br /> Application as referenced. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Cotton. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 4-0. <br /> Roll Call Vote: <br /> Selectman Sherman,yes Selectman Gottlieb,yes Selectman O'Hara,yes <br /> Selectman Cotton,yes Opposed, none <br /> Pet Fest, Town Clerk Deb Dami: <br /> A Special Events Application and Temporary Sign Permit Application was presented to the Board of <br /> Selectmen for approval from Deborah Dani, the Town Clerk. The 5t" Annual Pet Fest is scheduled to be held <br /> at the Mashpee Community Park on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. The rain date is Sunday, <br /> October 14, 2018. The event includes dog licensing, demonstrations, a rabies clinic, a blessing of the animals, <br /> a DJ and food truck vendors as well as pet-related vendors. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Gottlieb to approve the Special Events Application and Temporary Sign <br /> Permit Application for the Annual Pet Fest scheduled to be held on October 13,2018 with a rain date of <br /> October 14, 2018 as referenced. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman O'Hara. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 4-0. <br /> Roll Call Vote: <br /> Selectman Sherman, yes Selectman Gottlieb,yes Selectman O'Hara,yes <br /> Selectman Cotton,yes Opposed, none <br />
