7 <br /> Community Preservation Committee <br /> Minutes <br /> August 16, 2018 <br /> APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS <br /> Catherine Laurent Director of Public Works - Review of Projects: <br /> Catherine Laurent, Director of Public Works was in attendance to update members of the <br /> CPC on several ongoing projects. <br /> Pickleball Project: <br /> A ribbon cutting ceremony was held last week for the new Pickleball Courts on 156 Ashumet <br /> Road. The new and emerging sport is well received by the community. A total of 8 dedicated <br /> courts with parking and other site amenities are provided. Ms. Laurent indicated there are a few <br /> items remaining to be completed. It is anticipated approximately $75,000 would be returned to <br /> the CPC upon project completion. The initial estimated cost for this project was $420,000. <br /> Mashpee High School Tennis & BasketbaIl Courts Im rovement Project: <br /> Most of the Mashpee Middle/High School Tennis and Basketball Courts Improvement project is <br /> complete. A few minor improvements include a practice backboard and player benches which <br /> are ordered and would be installed prior to project completion. <br /> One Room Schoolhouse Project: <br /> The One Room Schoolhouse project is ongoing. The DPW will be re-building an attached shed <br /> to the schoolhouse this fall for authenticity of the building with available funding. <br /> Great River Boat Ramp Improvement Project: <br /> The Great River Boat Ramp Improvement project is 90% complete. The project has been <br /> successful. With the completion of pending work approximately $100,000 is anticipated to be <br /> returned from the $650,000 project. <br /> Santuit Pond Parking Lot Im rovement Project: <br /> The Santuit Pond Parking Lot Improvement project is near completion. The DPW is in the <br /> process of replacing the old access gate. <br />
