Minutes of Meeting of
Design Review Committee
Held Tuesday, November 6, 2018
Mashpee Town Hall Waquoit Meeting Room
Mr. Cummings asked about the sign on the building. Mr. Junqueira pointed out that the
sign on the building is approximately 10 sq. ft., and it seems to be within the requirements.
Mr. Mendoza said it appears that most of questions were answered, and especially the
questions that were raised by other members of the committee that were not present but
were notified. He doesn't have a problem with the colors or the shutters.
Joe didn't have any more comments.
Mr. Mendoza moved to discuss the free standing sign that requires an application. He
wanted to make sure that the applicants understood that it was not part of the original
application and requires a separate discussion. He pointed out that the sign that was
submitted had three different color swatches, and he wants to see the exact height and
dimensions. He told the applicants they will need to schedule another Design Review
meeting to discuss the specific sign requirements.
Mr. Mendoza made a motion that the applicant has met the requirements requested from
the October 16, 2018 meeting.
Mr. Cummings seconded the motion. All were in favor.
Other Business: Approve meeting minutes dated October 16, 2018
Mr. Mendoza moved to approve the meeting minutes. Mr. Cummings seconded. All were
in favor. Bill Blaisdell abstained.
Mike Mendoza called the meeting to order at 9:00 am.
NEW HEARING
9:00 Business name: Cape Cod Dog Center Inc.
Project Address: 31 Evergreen Circle
Owner:Evergreen Energy LLC as owner
Representative: Attorney, Kevin Kirrane, DKM&G
Representative: Design Learned, Inc.
Architect: Brown, Lindquist, Fenuccio & Raber
Requests: Proposed 6,376 sq. ft. building to be used as
Dog daycare and boarding center.
Attorney Kirrane represented the applicants. He said that the proposed building is a
refreshing change from the usual metal buildings that are generally built in industrial and
commercial parks. His clients are currently operating the same business in a leased space
in Sandwich but they would like to develop a property of their own, and operate their dog
center as indicated in their application. The building is about a 6,400 sq. ft. in the newly
developed sub-division that was lost to the bank and was foreclosed on. The utilities are
currently being placed. This facility will offer both a dog day care, and suites for dogs to be
boarded overnight. The hours of operation will be 7am to 7pm, seven days a week. There
will be 18 parking spaces that exceed the 8-space requirement for this size structure.
2
