1k <br /> ` s <br /> ■ <br /> SUBCOMMITTEE REPORTS: <br /> INLAND WATERWAYS: Mr. Homeyer reported that the boat in Santuit <br /> is running with Harbormaster signs on each side. <br /> PPPNESET BAY: Dr. Gordon reported large amounts of boats <br /> out as well as nude boaters through the inlet. No personal <br /> injury, and one woman needed to be rescued while swimming. <br /> WAIT BAY: Mr, Hank reported speeding traffic on Great River. <br /> Mr, Fordham reported. 150 boats coins out, and 95 boats on the <br /> inside of Mashburn Island. <br /> STATUS REPORT ON BOATING IN MAS PEE PAMPHLET: Mr. Ellis noted <br /> it is in use, and he needs more copies to hand out. Mr. Hanks <br /> rec mmended handing out copies at the Great River ramp. <br /> USE OF WATERWAYS IMPROVEMENT FUNDS: Dr. Gordon stated that <br /> he wants to go to the Selectmen and ask for several new buoys <br /> and one new 88 horse power motor to re-place an old one and then <br /> take the old one and put it on the work boat whose motor is <br /> dead, and then we should have three decent motors on three decent <br /> patrol boats. Also, we meed new signs and safety related <br /> articles for the boat, other suggestions were as follows <br /> canvas covers toprotect the equipment, holdowns for gas tanks, <br /> mounted oars , good life ring with a 40-foot polypropylene <br /> floating line, mounted fire etincuishers , boarding ladders , <br /> bimini or T-tops, lifevests for each patroler to wear, and <br /> portable radios . <br /> VOTE: Motion made and seconded to allow Dr. Gordon and Mr. <br /> Ellis to develop a list of needed articles to brine to the <br /> Selectmen using Waterways Improvement Funds . <br /> Unanimous vote. <br /> STATUS OF PUMPOUT GRANT: A draft plan was passed out by Mr. <br /> Hanks to read for informational purposes , Mr. Hanks stated <br /> that them is $24, 972 to work with under this grant ( $19, 900 <br /> for Waquoit and $5 , 000 for Pponsset ) , and he is working on <br /> dovetailing this with a previous grant. Dr. Gordon stated <br /> that he would like to purchase a good seaworthy boat that could <br /> be used as a patrol boat in an emergency as well as a pumpout <br /> vessel.. <br /> DOCK PERMIT REVIEW: Mr, Hanks raised a question of an extended <br /> dock in Little River, Mr. Homeyer stated that it is being moved <br /> out since the float bottoms out at low utter, and he remembers <br /> i tray s passed through Conservation Commission.
