Nick indicated that he would probably submit this Legislation to the Attorney General's Office for an opinion. Whatever that opinion was would be the controlling judgment, hrn. I it ner asked ]dick Fleming, South Cape Beach Supervisor, if there had been any problems during the previous year's hunting season. Dick reported there had been no problems, no adverse incidents. hm. I irsner opened the meeting to comments from the committee: W. Woods indicated her concerns about seeing more non-hunters using the beach during the hunting season. She was concerned about the possibility f conflicts; she does not want to wait until there was an incident t delve into the question of how do you avoid the problems. Winnie recom- mended that they consider restricting either days or hours when both groups could pursue their activities without impediment from the other users. She suggested it may be wise to pick two days in the middle of the 'week for non- hunting activities. hm. Kirsner frilly agreed with Ms. Moods re the potential conflict which night develop. However, he would not be in favor of scheduling days or 4 hours as recommended by Ms. Woods. 4 Discussion of W. Woods' recommendation followed. J. Monaghan's opinion was than the hunters tended to police their own, and they did a good job of it; no incidents J. Monaghan recommended that the committee approve the practice of hunting on. South Cape Beach as in previous years, with the same regulations. r The question of hunting on South Cape Beach for the 1996/97 season was put to a vote; In favor of hunting: 4 Opposed A tie vote. k Morris explained that he had received, in writing, a Proxy vote from John Cramer who,was unable to attend the meeting, Mr. Cramer indicated that he was 'yin favor of hunting on South Cape Beach property in the absence of any unforeseen circumstances for the 1996/97 season." hm. Iir ner explained that he could not vote Mr. Cramer's proxy.
