South Cape Beach State Park Advisory Committee
Minutes
January 4, 2005
IV WHERE DOES THE COMMITTEE WANT .TO GO FROM HERE • Continued
Stone Memorial : The Sub-committee consisted of Jerry Smith,
Bill Martirs and Jack Cramer. The results of the sub-committee
were reported in some old minutes which stated: "Listed were
the names of three selectmen and eight committee members , Bruce
McHenry, Morris Kirsner, and Bill Martiros are still with us . ,,
The question is how to go about it.
Jack Cramer explained that Bill, Jerry and Jack met this morning
at the South Cape Beach t 'discuss the location of the stone
memorial. Jack explained that he knew where he can go to get
this done so that there would be no cost to the Town; no cost to
the State. However, they do have to have permission from DCR to
do this. He explained that he will draw up a document, and take
it around and get some bids. Jack wanted to reopen the subject
on the wording. The original was :, "THE SCB STATE PARK WAS
ACQUIRED BY THE STATE OF MASSACHUSETTS IN SEPTEMBER 1981. D .E TO
THE TIRELESS EFFORTS OF THE SOUTH CAPE BEACH COMMITTEE THE PARK
HAS BEEN PRESERVED FOR THE ENJOYMENT OF ALL MASSACHUSETTS RESI-
DENTS. "
ESI-
DENT . "
(Jack explained that he had added to the original wording,
following "COMMITTEE" "And is hpee Selectmen" .
There was discussion that DEN.[ Commissioner, Richard Kendall and
Terry Cahir' s and Torn Cahirxs names should also be added to the
memorial.
V DISCUSSION OF BOARD VACANCIES
Currently we have two vacancies on the committee for the Town of
Mashpee, 1 Barnstable representative.
Jerry explained that a potential candidate, Frank Connell.y has
indicated interest in becoming a member*
Two former applicants, Gus Frederick and Maxine Wolfset have
been contacted by letter by the board secretary advising that
we presently have two openings.
The board secretary -has also contacted the 'down of Barnstable ,
Appointment Committee relative to the vacancy for a Barnstable
Representative, The Appointment Committee is scheduled to
meet during the month of January. , Hopefully, they will act
upon it this month.
