<br />Linda Gillooly, homeowner, explained they are proposing to remove 4 pitch pines, 1 oak <br />tree and 1 large branch. Stated they are asking to remove the pitch pines because of their <br />close proximity to their home. She stated an arborist has confirmed the need for their <br />removal and noted the arborist has identified replacement native species plantings for <br />them. The Agent confirmed the need for the removal of the trees and the large leader on <br />the oak tree. She also noted the hazardous oak tree and a large branch which they were <br />also requesting to be removed which is hanging over the dock. If allowed, an arborist has <br />suggested the tree be replaced with native plantings. The Agent confirmed the hazardous <br />situation and recommended the removal of the trees and described. <br /> <br />No comment from the public <br /> <br />Motion: Mr. Sweet moved a Negative Determination, seconded by Mr. O’Neill. He explained the <br />proposal is to upgrade a failed septic system to a new Title V system that meets all current <br />regulations. He noted the existing system will be abandoned, pumped and disposed of at <br />a suitable landfill. <br /> <br />The Agent noted the plan was hand delivered today to the Board of Health and is under <br />review for a 3-bedroom dwelling. <br /> <br />No comment from the public <br /> <br />Motion: Mr. Sweet moved a Negative Determination, seconded by Mr. Dalton. NOI <br /> <br />Resource Area: LSCSF, Salt Marsh, BVW, Land Under Ocean. <br /> <br />Mr. Smith, owner, and Lars Jensen, P.E., Inghouse Structural Design, were present. Mr. <br />Smith stated he hired Mr. Jensen to evaluate the issue regarding the pilings. Mr. Jensen <br />stated upon inspection, he found everything in the construction is adequate. There are no <br />signs of damage. The pilings are not driven to full depth and are upside down. He stated <br />12” diameter pilings will be installed the normal way (no jetting of piles). He said the <br />existing missing piles and access walkway will be installed by a local marine contractor <br />who will be completing the unfinished pile installation as well as continue driving the <br />remaining piles via a town approved installation method. <br /> <br />
