minimum of a 5’ clearance at mean high water line to provide light. The width of the timber
walkway will be 4’ and fitted with a handrail. The structure will end at the Mashpee River
with a 6’ wide “Ell” shaped float which will be secured by 10” timber pilings. The owner
also proposes to eradicate poison ivy located on the coastal bank near the proposed
elevated walkway and along the edge of the top of the coastal bank which will be
performed by a licensed contractor. Mr. Borselli reviewed the proposal on the plan
provided.

Mr. Borselli noted in a letter from the Division of Marine Fisheries they recommended the
walkway be elevated to 6’. He said the plan now calls for 5’ and he said if the Commission
wishes he would comply with the Division of Marine Fisheries recommendation. He also
stated he received comments from Natural Resources which stated the proposed dock is
to the southern edge of the town’s Oyster program in Mashpee River. This area is muck
and absent of a substantial natural stock of shellfish. They asked for future cooperation in
their propagation efforts as the area to the north of the dock is a highly productive oyster
area. Mr. Borselli stated he also received comments from the Harbormaster which stated
he had no problem with the project except he noted if there is any impact on the existing
moorings, they need to be shifted at the applicant’s expense. Mr. Borselli submitted two
revised plans to the Agent.

The Agent felt the recommendations from the Marine Fisheries was not absolutely
necessary but that is at the discretion of the Commissioners.

No comment from the public

Motion: Chad Smith moved to Close and Issue, seconded by Mr. Dalton. Vote
unanimous 4-0

6:03 Mario A. & Sandra J. Orangio, 63 Massasoit Avenue. Proposed
removal/reconstruction of deck and relocation of shed. RDA

Resource Area: Buffer Zone to Inland Bank Leading to Vernal Pool, Freshwater
wetland

Jack Landers-Cauley, JE Landers-Cauley, PE, represented the applicants. He stated the
proposed project is the razing and reconstruction of an existing deck and stairs and the
moving of the existing shed. The new deck will occupy the same footprint. The shed will
be relocated as shown on the plan. The new deck will be supported on new sona-tubes
and the excavation will be done by a combination of hand digging and power auger. The
shed will be placed on concrete blocks by hand.

No comment from the public

The Agent showed the project on the photos provided and the steep bank that goes down
to the freshwater wetland, a certified vernal pool and also noted where the shed will be
constructed. He said the project meets the performance standards. He noted the
applicants need to stop dumping leaves and debris down the bank.
