7 <br /> Community Preservation Committee <br /> Minutes <br /> December 18, 2018 <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> Deliberations on May 2019 Project Proposals: (continued) <br /> Mashpee War Monument: $174,154 estimate (construction phase) TBD: <br /> Motion made by Mr. Hyde to approve and recommend to the May 2019 Special Town <br /> Meeting the Mashpee War Monument project in the amount of$174,154 for Historic <br /> purposes. <br /> Motion seconded by Mr. Smith. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 8-0. <br /> Roll Call Vote: <br /> Mr. Gottlieb,yes Mrs. Thayer,yes Mr. Hyde,yes Mr. Halpern,yes <br /> Ms. Waygan, yes Mr. Pizzo,yes Mr. Harsch,yes Mr. Smith,yes <br /> Opposed, none <br /> Digitization of the Mashpee Enterprise Newspaper: $50,350: <br /> In addition to several letters of support,the Mashpee Public Library received a letter of support <br /> from Ava Costello, Chair of the Historical Commission dated October 31, 2018 on behalf of the <br /> Historical Commission in support of the request to seek CPC funding to digitize the Mashpee <br /> Enterprise. However,the letter was not officially voted upon by the Historical Commission, and <br /> to comply with CPA mandates, the Historical Commission must vote to determine this resource <br /> is significant in the history, archeology, architecture, or culture of the Town of Mashpee. <br /> It was agreed the Historical Commission would be consulted with respect to this regard. The <br /> next scheduled Historical Commission meeting is Thursday, December 20, 2018 and thereafter <br /> on January 3, 2019. The matter was taken under advisement at this time. <br />
