Box 403
Forestdale, MA 02644
s Dear Chief Baker,
I am writing to you today to commend one of the members ofour department.
Y p
While fishing in vineyard Sound aboard my boat on the afternoon of Tuesday June
;. Y
1 0,1997 I accidently pierced my hand with a fishing hook. I was unable to dislodge it on
my own and proceeded to return to shore. Upon reaching pp p the Po onessett spit I noticed
another vessel anchored in the bay. I inquired if they mht have some type of a cutter to
assist in removing the hook from my hand, the gentleman on board the vessel was Daniel
Bohnenberger, he aptly assisted in providing immediate first aid and removin the hook
g
from my hand. Daniel then identified himself as an EMT and stated that he worked for
Your department, I highly applaud the efforts of this young man and think he is a great
asset to the Town of Mashpee and the Fire and Rescue organization.
Being a retired police officer I remember when we all had to do a little extra once
in a while. It is nice to see in these days and times with the degradation of youth and
society that there are still some young people who want to make a difference. Again my
heartfelt thanks to you and the men and women of your organization,
With Deepest gratitude,
Walter Hanley
cc: Mashpee Board of Selectmen
