Braden Thompson Plume: (continued) <br /> Mr. Martin indicated that DEP is presently evaluating all new <br /> information received from the monitoring and recent sampling to `^ <br /> determine the most appropriate remedial response action alternative. <br /> A detailed schedule report will be available at the end of August. <br /> We expect to maintain our goal to bring the system on line next <br /> 4� <br /> fall indicated Mr. Martin. <br /> Andrea Popadopolous,Deputy Director of the DEP's southeastern ' <br /> regional office stated that the State has spent over$1 million to <br /> define the plume and design the containment system. The State is <br /> committed, and funds are presently set aside within the department <br /> for appropriate activities indicated Ms. Popadopolous. <br /> r: <br /> i <br /> Bill Fisher recommended that the final remediation design and construction <br /> be finalized within a twelve monthP eriod to assesspotential impacts in <br /> �k <br /> Mashpeelwakeby Pond. He also recommended that the definition of the <br /> a� <br /> nature and extent ofotential receptors be assessed. <br /> P - <br /> i` <br /> Most private wells will be found at a depth of 40informed Mr. Fisher. <br /> The to of the plume has been detected at approximately 145'. At this <br /> P <br /> time,the plume appears to be nugrating towards the northeast side of <br /> wakeby Pond indicated Mr. Fisher. <br /> Amy Joseph,h, a resident of Pimlico Pond stated that she is concerned with <br /> the quality of water In the lake as well as the drinking water. She asked <br /> if there was a schedule to assess the potential contamination in the lake? <br /> Mr.Fisher indicated that the risk association will be assessed by the State. <br /> He also stated that interim measures should be considered. It was noted <br /> that theP lume is moving at the rate of approximately 100'per year. <br /> Don St. Armond,Lovell's Lane asked if the schedule of information will <br /> beP ublished and how often the area will be monitored? Elias McQuaid, <br /> Board of Health Agent indicated that volatile organic compounds (Vols) <br /> will be tested in the area of Saddleback Road at no charge to the residents. <br /> Mr. McQuaid stated that he tests on a bimonthly basis. The pond is still <br /> considered safe for swimming, boating and fishing indicated Mr. McQuaid. <br /> Mr. Martin indicated that monitoring is conducted on a yearly basis. <br />
