This <br /> article would authorize the purchase of a parcel of land now surrounded by <br /> the John's Pond Park conservation area. <br /> All costs associated with the purchase would come from the state under <br /> its "Self Help" conservation acquisition program. If attained,the grant <br /> would provide 50% funding for the purchase noted Mr. Fudala. <br /> The land, an area of approximately 2.73 acres would cost an estimated <br /> sum of$30,000. <br /> Council on Aging-Article 23: <br /> James Long addressed Article#23 with members of the Board of <br /> Selectmen. This article is designed to match municipal position <br /> opportunities with income eligible elderly and disabled citizens seeking <br /> tax relief. <br /> The sum of$5,000 will allow ten positions to be filled for next fiscal <br /> year explained Mr. Long. Each participant must complete 100 hours <br /> of service be eligible for a rebate/voucher of$500 per fiscal year <br /> per household. <br /> Town Planner-Expense Budget: <br /> Mr.Fudala requested the Board approve the additional sum of$3,000 <br /> to the expense budget of the Planning Department for the purpose of <br /> printing and publishing elements of the Local Comprehensive Plan. <br /> Mr.Whritenour concurred with the above request. The sum of$13,670 <br /> is approved by the Board for total expenses as recommended. <br /> The Planning Department has also requested the salary and wage account ' <br /> to reflect an additional $1,000 for secretarial support. Mr. Whritenour <br /> concurred with the request for overtime secretarial support, <br /> y.. <br />
