5
Jude 27, 1996
Page 3
IROD has been changed to reflect such a chane in the goals and objectives
. . g g o ectves nor that
the communities have consented to such an approach.
11. Zone II of contribution of thero osed water supply '
P P pp y well starts at John's Pond. Data
must be developed to identify if any contamination has entered this zone. This is
critical to Mashpee as considerable money is planned to be spent i
n the very near
future on the development of a wellhead to address the expanded needs of the Town.
12. Because Mash residents in the Tri-Town
P area of the Town are connected to the
i
Falmouth water distribution system, which s to only receive wellhead treatment, we
believe the residents in this area of our community should be connected to the
Mashpee Water Distract so that they receive the cleanest waterP ossible,
Consequently, we expect the extra expense of interconnection to be funded and
included as part of the plan.
13. We would suggest that by having interconnection between the comm es,es, the
Town of Mashpee will act as a backup for water source either on an as needed"basis
or on a more permanent basis if the situation warrants an upper Cape re 'onal water
operation.

Two members of our community, who represent the Town on the Process Action Teams
Juan Bacigalupi and Greg Taylor, have already submitted relevant and comprehensive comments
on the Plan. The Town
fully supports and adopts these comments and requests that the be
me rated b reference into these co y
y comments submitted by the Town.
The Town takes the Revised Strategic Plan very seriousl . W `
. ry y e are very concerned that the
Plan appears to represent a retreat from prior coma fitments to develop a timelyand effective
invests s
anon an
g d remediation plan. We are especially troubled that the Plan does not appear to
PP
mandate effective measures to stop further advancement of the contaminated lames into
Mash ee's oundw P
p gr . .aters, As,a result, the Town is considering all possible means of relief
including exploring its legal options.
Please incorporate this letter into the Administrative Record for the Draft S trate 'c Plan.
an.
MASHPEE BOARD OF SELECTMEN
Peter A.D*InI71*o,Chairman George R.
