Page 7 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> July 15, 1996 <br /> F1 <br /> Lrg Chief re: Fire S t tion Feasibilily Re o • <br /> Based upon computer modeling of the response times to various <br /> locations in Mashpee, the Capital Improvement Committee has prioritized <br /> renovations to the central Fire Station indicated Mr.whritenour who <br /> noted that a satellite station is anticipated in South Mashpee by the year <br /> 2002. <br /> Chief Baker indicated that he will prepare an article for the October <br /> Town Meeting warrant requesting funds to renovate the existing facility. <br /> He well also obtain scientific data to support a sub-station for South <br /> Mashpee in the area of Redbrook Road. <br /> Sid Golub, Chairman of the Finance Committee questioned the affordability <br /> r . <br /> of the project as outlined in relation to the Towns additional capital needs. <br /> Mr.Alan Godfrey,President of Peninsula Council of New Seabury <br /> indicated that the topic of a sub-station will be discussed at the next <br /> council meeting as a result of a recent incident in Bright Coves. <br /> For the record, Mr. Godfrey indicated Penin su 1 a Council and South <br /> Mashpee residents support the construction of a sub-station in South <br /> Mashpee. <br /> Chairman Dinizio recommended to forward the proposal to renovate the <br /> . . . P p <br /> s existing facility and alternate proposal for a sub-station to the Capital <br /> Improvement Committee for review. Selectman Dinizio also suggested <br /> r the Finance Committee give input into the process. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Caffyn to forward the proposed <br /> Fire and Rescue Station Renovation Study and alternate <br /> proposal for aSub-Station to the Capital Improvement <br /> Committee for review. The Fire Chief is authorized to further <br /> review alternate options with Donham and Sweeney, Inc. <br /> r Motion seconded by Selectman Costa, <br /> YOTE. Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Selectman Caffyn recommended the Board tour the newly built Harwich <br /> Fire Station and refurbished Sub-Station. <br />
