The Chair felt that a statement was necessary to identify what could and could not be addressed. <br /> Ms. Doyle suggested that the purpose identified the goals and role of the Committee. The Chair <br /> stated that a newspaper article may be drafted to let residents know of the existence of the <br /> Committee and it was necessary to have clarity regarding the role of the Committee. It was Mr. <br /> Horner's opinion that the Committee may not be ready for a newspaper article and other <br /> Committee members agreed. <br /> A resource will be developed for the next meeting for further consideration. <br /> MOTION: Ms. Brown made a motion to create a resource guide to bring back to the <br /> Committee.Ms.Moyle seconded the motion. S yes, 2 abstain <br /> Proposals to Selectmen <br /> Veterans Parking-Mr. Horner and Selectman Cotton met to discuss and revise <br /> the proposal. It was noted that Falmouth was providing free parking to Veterans at their beaches. <br /> Mr. Horner read the proposal to the Committee. It was determined that the proposal would <br /> include one designated Veteran parking space at the front of Mashpee Town Hall. There was <br /> discussion regarding reference to Mashpee Town Office at 26 Frank E. Hicks Drive, which was <br /> the location of the Senior Center. Under Locations for Future Consideration, the proposal would <br /> be changed to read Mashpee Fire and Police Department and other Town buildings. It was also <br /> suggested that parking signage should be located at South Cape Beach, Mashpee Wakeby and <br /> Johns Pond, <br /> Mr. Horner would next be meeting with the Town Manager and potentially present to the Board <br /> of Selectmen. Mr. Horner discussed the signage he identified as possible options, and referenced <br /> Road Traffics Design as a possible option. Mr. Horner provided designs with the proposal and <br /> described each of the designs. There was discussion regarding the costs of color as well as the <br /> specifics of each of the designs. There was consensus from Committee members regarding <br /> signage with the flag in the background of the text. It was suggested that cost variations for each <br /> of the signs be researched and Ms. Johnson-Graham noted that she could reach out to Road <br /> Traffics Design. <br /> MOTION: Ms. Brown made a motion to approve Mr. Horner to meet with the Town <br /> Manager regarding the proposal. Ms. Wilson seconded the motion. 6 yes, Mr. Horner <br /> recused himself <br /> Mr. Horner also indicated his interest in donating funds toward the establishment of a statue <br /> representing the Fire, Police Department and Veterans. Ms. Johnson-Graham recommended the <br /> addition of a Tribal member. <br /> Child Care for Town Meeting-Ms. Doyle contacted towns offering childcare for <br /> Town Meetings, finding that Brewster and Harwich offered the service. Ms. Doyle would be <br /> talking further with the Brewster coordinator. Ms. Doyle read the email she sent to the towns, as <br /> well as a flyer from West Tisbury offering child care services. Regarding Harwich, Ms. Doyle <br /> read the email, which indicated that the service was utilized by a handful of residents, and <br /> offered at the Community Center and staffed by students. Ms. Doyle wished to pose the question <br /> 3 <br />
