This group consisted of the Personnel Admimustrator MarilynFarren, the <br /> Town Treasurer, Anne Shag, the Town Planner, Tom Fudala, and the Librarian, <br /> Helene DeFoe. <br /> By reviewing each of the steps, we found that some parts of thep rocess stood out as <br /> being inefficient and very time consuming. I have recently conducted another review <br /> of the process and have prepared the following explanation of the steps of our hiring <br /> g <br /> process and, in some cases, recommended changes. <br /> NEED AND APPROVAL <br /> To begin the hiring process in the Town of Mashpee, a need for the position must first <br /> . p <br /> be determined by the Department Head. Once this has been established, the job <br /> description must be updated or(in the case of a neve position), prepared and <br /> submitted to the Personnel Board for approval. If it is a neve position, town meet' <br /> g <br /> would vote to create the position and appropriate the funds. If it is an existing <br /> position, verification of existing funds in the budget is required. <br /> No Recommended Change. <br /> RE UISITION <br /> i <br /> Currently, a vacancy form must be filled out by the Department Head and approved <br /> by the Board of Selectmen/Executive Secretary before the advertising process can <br /> begin. The form is a way of letting the Personnel Department and the Board of <br /> Selectmen/Executive Secretary know that a particular office has a vacancy. It <br /> r <br />
