This process is lengthy and depends ds vn the <br /> Board of Selectmen to hold a meeting. The request could be approved b h <br /> q pp y the <br /> Executive Secretary and a copy would go to the Board of Selectmen. Once approved <br /> pp oved <br /> by the Executive Secretary, the Personnel Department would start the advertising <br /> p ert sing <br /> process. Should the Board of Selectmen wish to examine the need to fill ap osition <br /> the Executive Secretary would notify the Personnel Department immediately. <br /> p y <br /> JOB POSTING <br /> Upon receipt of the requisition, the Personnel Department oversees the posting of the <br /> position(internally/externally). If it is a promotional opportunity, policy, the olio of the <br /> Town of Mashpee is, where possible, to fill all vacancies b promotion from within. <br /> y <br /> p p y <br /> The position is posted for seven(7)working days. Full-time and art-time em to ees <br /> are eligible to apply for all posted promotional opportunities. <br /> If it is an outside recruitment, the media and resources best suited to reach candidates <br /> with the particular skills is used. <br /> RECOMMENDED MENDED CHANGE: <br /> Review of the job posting by the Department Head to insure correct information is <br /> listed in the job advertisement. <br /> INTERVIEW <br /> If a Department Head position is vacant, the Executive Secretary, a liaison from the <br /> Board of Selectmen, two members of the Personnel Board(Chairman and <br /> Department Liaison), and a liaison from a particular Board(if one is involved) review <br /> the applications and interview qualified candidates. <br /> If a position is vacant below the level of Department Head, the Personnel Board and. <br /> the Department Head review the applications and interview qualified candidates. It is <br /> the choice of the Department Head of who to recommend for hire along with <br /> recommendations by the Personnel Board. <br /> Applications are reviewed to see if candidates meet the minimum specific skills <br /> s abilities etc for the position. <br /> K�en <br /> RECOMN ENDED CHANGE: The Personnel Administrator/Affirmative Action <br /> Officer would review the applications initially and send only the names of qualified <br /> x <br /> f <br /> f <br /> I <br />
