Page 4 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> December 16, 1996 <br /> APPQEN=NTS AND HEARIN • <br /> Town QIcA r • Street,Name Chang&• <br /> Jane Labute, Town Clerk was present to request the Board approve <br /> the street name change to Ashers Path by adding East and West to <br /> facilitate the E--911 emergency system. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Marsters to approve the street <br /> name change as requested to East Ashers Path and West <br /> Ashers Path, <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Caffyn. <br /> YQTI.• Unanimous. 3-0. <br /> Recess: 6:52 p.m. Meeting Resumed: 6:58 p.m. <br /> Pre5cnMl on of Citizen Police Academv Certificates. <br /> William Przybylek, Chief of Police and Chairman Costa presented <br /> certificates to twenty citizens who completed the Citizens Police Academy. <br /> Deputy Cooper, Sergeant Ethier, Sergeant Bevacqua, and Sergeant Umina <br /> were also present. It was noted that this is the second class of graduates. <br /> Approximately sixty-five citizens have successfully completed the academy <br /> course to date. <br /> PUBLIC CQMMENT: <br /> Charles Costello requested the Board approve the Selectmen's meeting <br /> minutes in a timely fashion. In addition, he requested the Board schedule <br /> a time and date for a DCPC hearing, and officially vote to support the <br /> nomination process. <br /> Juan Bacigalupi urged the Board to support the clean-up of the Briarwood <br /> contamination. He stated that property values have diminished,and the <br /> proposed clean-up system as defined may further decrease property values. <br /> Mr.B acigalupi stated that the proposed treatment fence in size and in <br /> structure does not offer an optimum location for placement. He requested <br /> the Board file suit against the Government on behalf of the Town with <br /> respect to this matter. <br />
