Landfill
Dear Members of the Board:
Please add our names to the list of residents who are very upset about the
placement of that ugly, rusted out, "Quonset hut" structure at the Mashpee Disposal
Area. It certainly belongs in one, but not ours. Now we have the dubious pleasure of
having one at EACH end of Meetinghouse Road.
we think that the idea of a "swap shop" at the landfill is good, but, to allow that..
THING anywhere in Mashpee is simply unforgivable. There are enough residents here
who would be (have been) more than willing to go down there and donate time to pound
some nails, drill some holes, run some wires; whatever -- and build something attractive.
Here we are, top taxpayers on Cape Cod, without even Town refuse pick-up, and
we have to see that JUA when we take our own trash to the Transfer Station. Tell Otis
to take it back and dispose of it properly.
We request that this letter be read aloud and into the record at the next
Selectmen's meeting by the Executive Secretary; or that we be allowed to do so ourselves.
Sincerely yours,
Andrew & Mathilde Elias on
