Page 4 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> October 21, 1996 <br /> COMhEaUCATIQNS AND CORRES PONDENCE�, <br /> Communication from residents of Deer CrQ.asng_ <br /> Selectman Caffyn requested the Board respond to the letters received <br /> from residents of Deer Crossing with regards to area traffic problems. <br /> She suggested to schedule a Public Hearing to further address this <br /> matter with concerned citizens. <br /> It was noted that the Director of Public works and Chief of Police <br /> are currently addressing entrances and egresses in response to area <br /> traffic concerns. *Future agenda item as information develops. <br /> Barnstable County Assemblv of Delegates: <br /> Selectman Caffyn indicated that town representatives to the County <br /> Legislature show little interest in re-election. only three of the fifteen <br /> Barnstable County Assembly of Delegates have returned nomination <br /> papers aside from potential write-in candidates seeking election. <br /> It was noted that the Assembly reviews county budgets,including those <br /> of the Cape Cod Commission, and Cape Cod Economic Development <br /> Council. <br /> Selectman Caffyn recommended the Board address this matter <br /> Education Reform Act; <br /> Selectman Caffyn was appointed to the State's Foundation Budget <br /> Review Commission, which is reviewing the funding formula under the <br /> Education Reform Act. <br /> Selectman Caffyn will represent the Cape and the Islands, and was <br /> appointed by the Governor on October 7, 1996. <br /> Rel ati n of Sampson's Mill Road: <br /> Selectman Caffyn requested an update on the proposed relocation of <br /> Sampson's Mill Road. Based upon the input received from area residents, <br /> we are not actively considering the relocation of this road informed <br /> Mr. whritenour. <br /> It was noted that the Public works Economic Development Program <br /> grant is under current analysis. The Board of Selectmen will have input <br /> into the process, and approve the final grant application. <br /> Selectman Caffyn recommended the Board submit a letter of response <br /> to the area residents with regards to this concern. <br />
