Page 6 .
Chm. Thomas : " We have already said that. "
Chief Priestly: "I think if the Town has in mind a private investigator,
Someone from the outside that would issue a report directly
to the Selectmen. "
Chm, Thomas : "Okay. "
Sel. Garland: " I wonder if Bernie Flynn would do it.'"
Chief Frye : "I never had the opportunity to talk to these people . "I wished
I had. "
Chm. Thomas : " You will probably now, I would think. "
Chief Frye : "I mean before this whole thing started. "
Chm. Thomas : "
Do you normally get involved with something, like that Chief
if you have a person who is the media, would you get this
involved?"
Chief Frye : "Yes , I do , :'I don 't really get involve .sometimes I just listen
in on the particular sessions . "
Sel . Garland: " There.-is another question that bothers me a little bit,
there has been a parting. infrence if that the insurance
company dictated to you or to your investigator. Certain
statements leading- us to believe that possibly: that they
didn ' t want an answer right off the bat , I don' t know
what the procedures are. I would like to know the procedure .
It seems to me if you have an arson investigator and he
goes out and makes his investigation and files his report
that ends it with the insurance company . The insurance
company doesn' t come down here and tells us what he should
or shouldn' t do by inference or by any other means . "
Chief Priestly ; IlMy understanding of the situation as far as the insurance
company findings , was that they found it more expeditious
to pay the claim than worry about trible damages . "
Chm. Thomas : " Do they have their own investigators?"
Chief Priestly: "Apparently they have their own investigators . "
Chm. Thomas : "That' s what I would assume. "
Sel . Garland: " Their investigation apparently was that they were satisfied
that this was a legitimate claim. "
Chief Priestly: "Apparantly, I haven ' t talked to them since . "
Sel . Garland: " What is the normal procedure relating with the insurance
companies?"
Chief Priestly: "To be quite honest with you I haven't had a long going
