I <br /> Fresh Water <br /> Mashp e-Wakeby Lake management Committee <br /> No report <br /> 4 <br /> Poppponesset Bay Area--Tiny Leedham: Boating activity has been very active. <br /> More people need to become more knowledgeable regarding navigation and waterway <br /> markers . Boaters have been operated outside of channel markers and reaching shallow <br /> waters. Last week there was a boat aground at the entrance to the Bay that was difficult <br /> to move to deeper water. <br /> vaquoit Bay-Jim Hanks an observer): Activity was a mirror ofthe <br /> Harbormaster report. <br /> Barnstable County Dredge Advisory Committee—Ken Bates: Ken Bates reported <br /> that a shift on representatives will he requested and would result in Perry Ellis becoming, <br /> the Designated Representative, and Bill Taylor will become Alternate Designated <br /> representative. Iden Bates will work with the Police Department for approval, and Town <br /> Offices of the change to insure that all are notified and that proper appointment/approval <br /> process is undertaken. Perry Ellis noted that County Dredging costs have been increased <br /> due to a fuel surcharge . In 2009, rates will incraseto $7.00 short haul and $11.00 long <br /> haul (booster pump). The year 2010 is expected to increase an additional 10%, $7.70 and <br /> $12..10. <br /> Water Quality <br /> No report <br /> . Barnstable County Coastal resources <br /> No report <br /> . Waterways Improvement Plan and Dredging Permits <br /> .Tim Hanks reported on his discussions and recommendations at last nights <br /> Board of Selectmen Meeting. He corrected the agenda notice that the paperwork was not <br /> Mashpee River dredging but information gathered for the Waterways Commission <br /> request to do the 6#' modeling sample. Jing Hanks will he following up with the parties <br /> involved in the modeling and will keep the Commission informed. <br /> . Public Access---Perry Ellis noted that the launch ramp needs some repairs to large <br /> potholes and that new signage for jet ski users Frere needed as the current signage is <br /> faded and lard to react. Steve Pinard noted several fence areas at the Great river Launch <br /> Ramp had been damaged. A large amount ofuser activity was noted at this ramp during <br /> the past week. <br /> New Business <br /> . i <br /> - 2 - <br />
