Coastal Resources Management Committee Update: Mr. Hanks <br /> reported that a meeting has been scheduled for May 25 , 1995 <br /> at 3 : 30 p.m. and nine members are needed to form a quorum. <br /> Mr-. Ellis noted that ae' od Commission has become involved <br /> and may write our regulations for us ,, Mr. Ellis stated' that <br /> Mashee should give consideration to getting out of the <br /> Commission. <br /> Review of Boating Brochures Handouts: Mr. Homeyer- gassed around <br /> samples of handouts for the public. It was determined that <br /> 1 , 500 will be needed; Mr. Ell-is will order them. Also, a handout <br /> from Mr, Sherman in the- Con Comm Office will be included. Dr. <br /> Gordon recommended putting these flyers and handouts in a ba gie <br /> . alo.ng with a candy into each boat in Little liver, New seabury, <br /> and Half Tide; any boat - 14 feet or larder will het the packet. <br /> Mr. Ellis offered to use $150 out of his budget to fund this <br /> project. Mr. Hanks recommended using $500 for Public Education <br /> out -of the waterways Improvement Fund budget, and he offered <br /> to draft _a letter requesting this . A motion was made, seconded, <br /> and unanimously voted in favor <br /> Review of Possible Waterfront Public Access Properties : It <br /> was noted that $5 , 000 is available for improvements of Town <br /> Waterway properties. The following sites are being studied: <br /> 1 econsett Island, making a fisherman' s way 'at the end; <br /> Little River, new office and , arage for Harbormaster; <br /> Fisherman' s way on Monomo c y Island; ) Repairs and general <br /> maintenance at Town Landing Ramps, <br /> Harbormaster Re-port: Mr. Ellis reported that there is very <br /> little Channel left - at the .spit. He marked the channel with <br /> double green and red since it was so narrow. ] oats are running <br /> well ; swim Markers are out. Signs from the State are still <br /> pending. CPS coordinates on the markers are still needed. <br /> Dr. Gordon asked about the safety equipment on the boats. Mr. <br /> Ellis is ordering new flares, and theme will be a boat on John' s <br /> Pond, Assistant Harbormasters will be meeting with the police <br /> re: procedures for identifying stolen Moats through I .D. numbers <br /> on the transom. Mr. Ellis cited drawbacks with the -use of a <br /> bimini and noted a preference for big hats and sunscreen. Mr. i <br /> Ellis stated that Mark Sherman will most likely be back this <br /> year. <br /> County Dredge Status- Update: Dr. Gordon stated bids for dredging <br /> were due Wednesday, May 3rd, and the Barnstable County <br /> Commissioners are coordinating this activity. <br /> Inland waterways : ' Mr. Homeyer had no report. <br /> Poponesset Bay; Dr. Gordon stated all is quiet; one boat i <br /> is in a New Seabury Marina. <br /> -2 <br />
