Minutes of Meeting of
Mashpee Plan Review Committee
Mashpee Town Hall Waquoit Meeting Room
Tuesday,June 19,2018
Mr. Harrington is concerned with the traffic travel next to the sidewalk dining area. He is
concerned about protecting the people sitting, and if would it be possible to extend the
wall down off the landscaped area for the outside dining.
Mr. Feronti said there is a concrete sidewalk, and a brick sidewalk. The patio becomes
brick two steps down from the sidewalk which travels to the west parking area of the
location. There's a path of travel for folks that are not going to the restaurant, and there's
a way onto the patio for folks at the restaurant.
Mr. Mendoza stated that he would like a better plan that clearly shows the sidewalk and
the road way. He also wanted to know about the protection from the transformers in
relation to the outside seating area.He wants this to have better public safety.
Mr. Feronti said the plan is to have landscaping around the transformers. He will provide
a better site plan with the building plans. The fire pit is hooked up with propane and will
not be hard-piped. He knows he will need to find a location for storage of the cage as
well.
Mr. Feronti said the patio seating will be for the breakfast/lunch restaurant, or for folks
who are just having coffee. The thought is that the outdoor dining is for the outside service,
and the plan is to put an exterior bar that is similar to the Lanes Restaurant with the
indoor/outdoor bar component. There will be a folding wall system so it can be closed
when not in use, and open when it is being used. The bar would be available for those
coming in for brunch or lunch, but predominately for functions. There will be alcohol
service as well but he was not sure if it is just beer and wine. They will have to go through
the liquor license process, and will need to identify the number of seats. The interior
design is not finalized yet.
Mr. Feronti said he hasn't identified the location for the grease trip but he is working with
the kitchen designer and wastewater engineer to size the grease trap based on the nwnber
of seats. _
Mr. Harrington commented that the Lanes Restaurant required screening for the outside
seating and he would like the same protection for this restaurant because of the open
kitchen. The other list of items he commented on are; the exterior grease trap (66 per
thousand), menu for breakfast/lunch, protection of outside seating, protection of
tiransformers, a floor plan with equipment list, the address to be determined, and all food
cooked in kitchen.
Mr. Harrington asked about the backside of the building. Mr. Feronti said it will not be
parking,it will be landscaped.
2
