At
request of applicant please vote to continue to 6/13 @ 6:00 p.m.
The Agent stated the reason for the request for the continuance is we haven't received a
letter from the Division of Marine Fisheries and the Shellfish Constable hasn't been able to
submit comments.
Motion: Mr. Sweet moved to continue the hearing to 6/13 at 6:00 p.m., seconded by
Mr. Smith Vote unanimous 4-0
6:09 Russell W. Lowe & Karen A. O'Rourke, 110 Wheeler Road. Proposed installation
of seasonal dock.
Resource Area: BVW, Coastal Bank, Ashumet Pond
Karen O'Rourke, homeowner, explained their proposal is to install a seasonal dock on their
property. The dock consists of four aluminum frame sections, each measuring four feet by
8 feet with cedar planks for decking. She noted it is removable and every fall it will be taken
out and stored under the house.
The Agent noted engineer plans are not required for a seasonal dock but plans need to be
to scale and conditions will still apply. He noted Ashumet Pond is mapped under Natural
Heritage and Endangered Species Program for rare species habitat freshwater mussels.
The applicant submitted a fee so they can do a freshwater mussel survey to make sure the
location of the dock is going to be an area either containing shellfish or not containing
shellfish but they will do an assessment to determine the best location for the dock. He
showed some photos of the house, the top of the bank and the steps leading to the Pond.
He noted the location of the dock may shift depending on Natural Heritage's determination.
No comment from the public
Motion: Mr. Sweet moved to Close and Issue pending notification from Natural
Heritage, seconded by Mr. Smith. Vote unanimous 4-0
PRE/POST HEARING AGENDA
AFCEC: Ordnance storage on Conservation lands on Back Road
