3 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> August 19, 2019 <br /> APPOINTMENTS & HEARINGS <br /> Public Comment: <br /> David Weeden of 53 Main Street requested action on the draft Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) <br /> associated to the Restoration of the Mashpee Parsonage. Mr. Weeden indicated he would like to move forward <br /> with the conditions assessment. Town Manager Rodney C. Collins indicated that Town Council is currently <br /> reviewing the draft, to be reconciled with the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe. After discussions, it is hopeful this <br /> matter would be ready for possible action at the Selectmen's September 9, 2019 meeting. <br /> In other business, Mr. Weeden indicated he endorses the first phase of funding proposed for wastewater as the <br /> environment is deteriorating the waterways and bays. Mr. Weeden stated it is sad that our rivers are one of the <br /> worst, and it is hopeful the Town of Mashpee will work to solve this critical issue. <br /> Arden Russell Cadrin, Stratford Ridge voiced support of the proposed Accessory Bylaw and advocated for the <br /> development of accessory apartments as a by-right use. Ms. Cadrin stated that it is a simple process easy to <br /> navigate. <br /> Ms. Cadrin also conveyed the Board of Selectmen's agenda is not readily accessible to the residents, only a few <br /> hours prior to a meeting. Town Manager Rodney C. Collins indicated the Town Clerk's Office is charged with <br /> this function. There is no failure by his staff. To rectify this issue,the Selectmen's agenda will also be posted <br /> online by his staff on Thursday. The Selectmen's Agenda packet would be available online on Monday. <br /> Agendas are also duly posted on the Town Bulletin Board at the Mashpee Town Hall. <br /> Melinda Baker, 73 South Sandwich Road expressed appreciation to the Planning Board for presenting the <br /> Accessory Bylaw to the Town. The Accessory Bylaw as proposed is specific and it will make it easier for <br /> residents who would like to stay in the Town of Mashpee. It was noted the Board of Selectmen was in receipt of <br /> additional favorable comments in support of the Accessory Bylaw as well. <br /> COMMUNICATIONS & CORRESPONDENCE <br /> The Board of Selectmen was in receipt of communication from the Mashpee Water District dated <br /> August 16, 2019 regarding the issue of sewers for the Town of Mashpee. (enclosed) <br /> The Board of Selectmen is anticipated to discuss this matter on Thursday, August 22, 2019. <br />
