Minutes of Meeting
Plan Review Committee
Tuesday, July 16, 2019
He does not have an issue with the use, but when the Cherrystones burnt
down and didn't get rebuilt, the grandfathering rights went away. That is why
this is dealing with the current bylaws of today, and not at the time the lot
was created. He agrees that this is restrictive, but knows the rules. He said
he will let the ZBA do their job reviewing the petitions for variance relief.
Evan and Glen had a discussion regarding the comments to be submitted
to the ZBA. Evan said that according to land court plans it is a road.
Charlie Maintanis, Building Inspector:
Charlie said he had an inspection in that area and noticed that those side
roads are difficult to navigate, but will leave that up to the ZBA.
Tom Rullo, Fire Chief:
Chief said that given the fact the building will be over 7500 sq.ft.will require;
• Sprinkler system.
• It will require a fire protection engineer to provide the
documentation under controlled construction documents.
• He likes the size of the entrances and exits for the building.
• 360 degree access is good. '....
• Dollar stores in the past have had compacting dumpsters for
cardboard purposes and is not in the plan. The Engineer
answered that there are only dumpsters. The Chief.said that the
compactor would have to be part of the fire protection engineer.
He knows it takes up a lot of room in the back of the building,
and is an expense. But there are three sides of that building that
are reachable. He noticed there are three dumpsters.
• Alarm system along with the sprinkler system.
Rodney Collins, Town Manager:
He said that as long as the regulatory boards.are okay, he likes the project.
Charlie noticed that the handicapped parking on the-landscape plan depicts
on the right side at the curb stop, but the site plan shows more centered.
He would like that to be more centered. The Engineer said that the ZBA
plan is the correct plan and is more centered. Charlie asked about snow
removal. The Engineer said there is no designated storage area but it will
be located on the western or northern edge to not block delivery and access
or entrances. It will have to be trucked out if required.
