10 Among other projects which the Selectmen would recom- mend for consideration by the Town is the installation of a central switchboard to be manned 24 hours a day. All calls for fire, police, and other departmental offices would come through this board. We feel this will be greatly beneficial to all residents of the Town, as well as its business people, and new comers who continue to move in both as summer and year round residents. Many of these people now find it difficult to contact those town officers whose services they need. Recommendation is hereby made, also, that our stabili- zation fund be raised to $25,000.00. A sound stabilization fund should be on tap for future municipal building needs in our community. We are now aking for quotations for the repair of the flume at the herring run on Route 130. It is greatly in need of repair because of the condition of both the road bed and the flume itself. We hope to establish an adequate parking area -and have a presentable place for :the use of the people of the town as well as visitors who come. Litigation is still pending in Superior Court in the case of the Town of Mashpee versus Anderson and Donato. A decision in favor of the Town was rendered by the courts in the litigation of town owned property at South Cape Beach. Roller skating was inaugurated 'at town hall with skating parties at least once each month; and the hall is opened for basketball games and practice, supervised, on certain days and evenings each week. The Department of Public Works has authorized and appropriated monies for the completion of Meeting House' Road, and beginning the construction of Seconset Island Road. Riverside Road and Bay View Road on Seconset Island have been surveyed and laid out, .and should be completed this year. Land damages have been taken care of and ease- ments from Trustees of Reservations completed in the case of Meeting House Road. The next Chapter 90 Project will be Seconset Island Road.
