Capital Improvement Program Committee Minutes January 19 2021*APPROVED* 1-29-2021 <br /> APPOINTMENTS& HEARINGS(con't) <br /> School Department (con't) <br /> School Technology Director Sean Moroney stated that the Chromebooks and Teacher PCs above are requests <br /> to continue the leases to stay on a four and five year replacement cycle. The wireless upgrades are to make <br /> sure that students and staff have adequate access to Wi-Fi for the computers especially due to the COVID 19 <br /> pandemic. It was disclosed that Chromebooks were purchased outside of the FY21 CIP process due to the <br /> COVID 19 pandemic. <br /> Interactive Board Systems Total Funds• $95 200 <br /> Mr. Moroney stated that this request is to continue upgrading the interactive board systems at the schools at <br /> an annual cost of$25,000 plus in fiscal year 2022 additional monies are requested to upgrade the boards. <br /> FM Amplification System Total Funds; $252 000 <br /> Mr. Gasior asked if this request was from a state bid and if the project could be completed in one year, Sean <br /> Moroney answered yes to both. Assistant Superintendent Hanscom stated that this is a legally required <br /> accommodation under an IEP or 504 plan and the School is requesting this project so that all may be <br /> accommodated rather than a one by one approach. At this time the accommodations are on a case by case <br /> basis. <br /> Mr. Collins asked if COVID 19 pandemic monies (CARES Act) have been used to offset the CIP items. School <br /> Department officials said they had not been used for this purpose. <br /> The CIP Committee had no further comments or questions about the School fiscal year 2022 CIP request. <br /> Planning& Construction FY2022 CIP Request: $12,447,501 <br /> Catherine Laurent, Director of the Department of Public Works presented the Planning & Construction <br /> Committee's budget of capital requests for fiscal year 2022 as per the table on the next page. Ms. Laurent that <br /> there were a number of school requests that should have come under the Planning&Construction Committee <br /> and that since they were not submitted to them the Planning and Construction Committee did not discuss <br /> them or vote on them. <br /> Flooring Replacement(Various Buildings) $50 000 <br /> Ms. Laurent explained that this the annual amount requested to replace flooring in various buildings in the <br /> Town. Support was expressed by the CIP Committee to continue this project for FY 2022. <br /> MMHS Field Improvements $7,400 000 <br /> Chair Collins referred the Committee to the earlier discussion during the School presentation. <br /> DNR Facility $4 400 000 <br /> Roof Solar System $ 119 198 <br /> QS Library A/C $ 75,000 <br /> MMHS Parking Lot Resurfacing $350 000 <br /> Santuit Pond Solar Bee $ 53,303 <br /> See chart below: <br />
