19
Permits for the sale of food, soft drinks and ice cream
and operation of recreational camps and cabins were issued.
A project of great value was the lowering of Mashpee
River from the head of the pond to the Mill Pond Flume for
an average: depth of two feet. This increased the flow of
water in the river and also lowered the water in the big
pond so as to increase the efficiency of mosquito control and
create more beach around the pond. This project was recom-
y mended by the Division of Waterways.
I
e Always of major interest is the care and maintenance
d of the Town Dump. The dump this year was fenced off so
e that debris would not be dumped all over the road. The
1 paper and brush was kept burned up and the debris was bull-
e dozed over into the hole and covered with sand to keep the
place as sanitary as possible. The board has not been success-
ful in acquiring a new dump location as yet. We hope that we
e will be able to find a new site located on land owned by the
o Town upon completion of the takings by the Tax Title Attor-
e ney.
The Board wishes to thank the several departments and
officials who cooperated .with the Health program during
n the past year.
S
r Respectfully submitted,
FRANK E.
