Motion-, I move that the sum of$1,500,000 is hereby appropriated for the purpose of paying a portion of costs of renovating and/or constructing and equipping the Mashpee Senior Center and for the payment of all other expenses incidental and related thereto (which are expected to total $2,100,000), and that to meet this appropriation, the Town Treasurer, with the approval of the Selectmen, is hereby authorized to borrow said amount under and pursuant to Chapter 44, Section 7, Clauses (3), (3A) of the General Laws, or any other enabling authority, and to issue bonds or notes of the Town therefor, provided, however, that no sums shall be borrowed or expended hereunder unless and until the Town shall have voted to exclude the funds required to repay any bonds or notes issued hereunder from the limitations of Proposition 2 1/2, so called, and further,, that the Selectmen are hereby authorized to apply for, contract for and expend funds from the anticipated Massachusetts Community Block Grant, in the amount of$60O,000, which shall be expended on this project in addition.to the amount appropriated hereunder. Motion passes by 2/3rds vote at 7:46 p.m. Article 2 To see if the Town will vote to appropriate and transfer from available funds $177,52,1 to fund a contract between the Town and the International Association of Firefighters, Local 2519, for the period beginning July 1, 2001, or take any other action relating thereto. Submitted by the Board of Selectmen Explanation: This article is placed on the warrant to provide funding for a contract between the Town and the International Association of Firefighters, Local 2519. At the time of publication,this agreement was not finalized. 0 A A Finance Committee recommends approval. Motion made by David Leveille. Motion: I move the Town vote to appropriate and transfer from Revenue Available for Appropriation $177,521 to fund a contract between the Town and the International Association of Firefighters, Local 2519 for the period beginning July 1, 2001, funds to be distributed to various salary line item accounts by the Town Accountant. Motion passes unanimously at 7:47 pm. Article 3 To see if the Town will vote to appropriate and transfer from available funds $125,116 to fund a contract between the Town and the International Brotherhood of Police Officers, Local 389, Unit A for the period beginning July 1, 2001, or take any other action relating thereto.
