Further, with the establishment <br /> of the nonprofit Mashpee EDIC, currently zoned industrial and commercial property which is unused, <br /> underused or underdeveloped can be properly managed to produce a sound and environmentally sensitive <br /> economy. <br /> Motion made by John Cahalane, <br /> Motion: I move Article 21 be voted as printed in the warrant with the exception of the phrase, "or take any <br /> other action relating thereto". <br /> Motion passes at 9:45 p.m. <br /> Article 22 <br /> To see if the Town will vote to increase the membership of the Council on Aging from seven to nine members; <br /> to amend §5-21 of the Mashpee Code, Council on.Aging, "Membership; terms;reappointment; compensation,"' <br /> by deleting the first sentence and inserting in its place the following: <br /> The Board of Selectmen shall appo�int the Council on Aging, consisting of nine (9) members whose terms shall <br /> be arranged so that, as nearly as possible, an equal number of terms expires each year. Except in the case of <br /> initial appointments, members shall be appointed for terms of three years. <br /> and, to authorize the initial appointment of the two additional members, as follows: one for a three year term <br /> expiring on June 30, 2004 and one for a one year term expiring on June 30, 2002; <br /> or take any other action relating thereto. <br /> Submitted by the Council on Aging <br /> Explanation-, This request is to increase the size of the Council on Aging in order to have an increased <br /> representation by all groups in the town. One of the increased positions would represent and be restricted to <br /> those from 21 to 59. <br /> Motion made by Wayne Taylor. <br /> Motion: I move Article 22 be voted as printed in the warrant with the exception of the phrase, "or take any <br /> other action relating thereto". <br /> Motion made to dispense with the reading of article. <br /> Motion to dispense with reading of article passes at 9:45 p0m. <br /> Motion passes at 9:45 p�.m. <br /> Article 23 <br /> To see if the Town will vote to amend the Mashpee Code by striking Chapter 40, Article 1, Section 40-4 (A.) <br /> and inserting in place thereof the following language: <br /> I <br /> 44A, Every Annual and Special Town Meeting and every annual and special election shall be called in <br /> pursuance to a Warrant. The Warrant shall be directed to the Constable or to some other person designated by <br /> the Board of Selectmen, who shall forthwith give notice at least fourteen days before such meeting or election <br /> by posting a copy of said Warrant, one at Town Hall and one at each of the Town bulletin Boards, and by <br /> causing said Warrant to be published in a newspaper of general circulation within the Town of Mashpee.", <br /> 25 <br />
