<br /> To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Board of Selectmen to petition the Massachusetts
<br /> Legislature for special legislation which would allow the assessment of betterments, pursuant to
<br /> G.L. c. 8o, in connection with improvements to High Sachem Road, Matchewuttaah Load,
<br /> Papnomett Road, Ships Lantern Drive, Clipper Street, Compass Drive, Topsail Road, Ships
<br /> Rudder Drive, Ships Wheel Drive, Davit Road, Porthole Drive, Ships Anchor Drive, Shipwreck
<br /> Drive, vista Circle, Scituate Road, Alden. Road, Essex Road, Oregon. Road, Radcliffe Road,
<br /> Brewster Road, Chatham Lane, Harwich load, tennis Road, and Truro Road, which
<br /> improvements were undertaken under the authority and by virtue of votes of the inhabitants of
<br /> the Town of Mashpee, authorizing the imposition of betterments acting under Articles 2 , and
<br /> 27 of the May 1, 1995 Annual Town Meeting and Articles 29, 30, and 31 of the May 1994
<br /> Annual Town Meeting, notwithstanding that an order stating that betterments are to be assessed.
<br /> was not made within ninety days from the acceptance by the Town of the laying out of said
<br /> ways, notwithstanding that an order of intention to impose betterments was not made prior to
<br /> making the improvements, and notwithstanding that assessments were not made within six
<br /> months after the completion of the improvements, or tale any other action relating thereto.

<br /> Explanation: The article is to correct any defects in the processes for the petitioned and
<br /> previously approved road taking and betterment projects for the listed streets.
<br /> Recommendation: The Finance Committee ittee recommends approval.

<br /> To see if the Town will vote to establ.ish. the "Mashpee Human Services Committee", whose
<br /> membership will be initially composed of seven (7) members, that will comprise the Mashpee
<br /> Human Services Committee Executive Board. It will include the following; Member, Board of
<br /> Selectmen; Member, Board of Health Director of Leisure Services; Director, Council on
<br /> Aging; and three (3) at-large members of the community, all of whom must be unaffiliated,
<br /> y department, or service residents of was ee, and neither of which may e affiliated with a town dap , ice
<br /> provider. At-large members shall be appointed by the Board of Health for a one year term
<br /> starting in June 1996 to June 1997.
